Kensington Palace in London had an rather important event over the weekend, on Sunday, July 22 was the fifth birthday of Prince George.

Prince George is the eldest son of beloved and always stylish Kate Middleton and Prince William.

While only five years old, the prince is third in line to the throne after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and father.

Amazingly, the birth of Prince George marked the first time in history since Queen Victoria reigned the throne, that three generations of direct heirs to the throne are alive at the same time. That is an incredible family legacy for the British Royal Family.

Prince George has had an exciting first five years of life. He was born in the same hospital as his father William and uncle, Prince Harry, St. Mary’s Hospital.

He is already a world traveler, having been to the beautiful Mustique, a Caribbean island in his first few months of life, a royal tour of Australia and New Zealand before his first birthday, and since trips to the French Alps, Canada, Germany, and Poland.

Prince George has met very important people in his young life, including President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

As in years past, Kensington Palace released the prince’s annual birthday portrait, showing a grinning light haired boy with pure joy on his face.

Some were quick to remark that his outfit was the same he wore to his brother, Prince Louis’, christening earlier in the month (there are plenty of photos of the stylish and attractive family to be seen).

Kensington Palace is great about releasing official photos of the royal family to mark important milestones, such as birthdays. Between Prince George and youngest, Prince Louis, are Kate and William’s middle child, Princess Charlotte who is three and fourth in line to the throne.
