Fortnite is Huge! Everybody is Playing It & Loves It!

The biggest and hottest game in the world right now is Fortnite by Epic Games. It is best described as a co-op, sandbox, survival game. A sandbox is a style of game in which there are minimal character limitations placed on the gamer, allowing them to roam and change their virtual world at will. A sandbox game emphasizes roaming and allows a gamer to choose tasks. A sandbox game usually occurs in a “world” to which the gamer accesses in full from beginning to end. A sandbox game is also known as an open-world or free-roaming game.

Fortnite was released for an early paying audience on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox. A full free-to-play version is now in release.

Basically, Fortnite is set in modern day Earth. A worldwide storm caused 98% of the world’s population to disappear, and zombie-like creatures rise to attack the living. Fortnite allows for up to four players to cooperate on various missions on randomly-generated maps to navigate and collect valuable resources, build necessary fortifications that are meant to help fight the storm & protect the survivors, and also construct weapons and traps to engage in combat with waves of these creatures that attempt to destroy the objectives. Players earn rewards through the missions to improve their hero characters, support teams, and an arsenal of weapons & traps to be able to take on more difficult missions.

What is ‘Playground Mode’ and What Happened To It?

‘Playground Mode’ has been highly anticipated. It is the most anticipated limited time mode (LTM) ever since Epic announced it last month. ‘Playground Mode’ arrived to Fortnite: Battle Royale, and it crashed. ‘Playground Mode’ isn’t like the other limited time modes, and it could be indicative of some of the most important changes to come to Fortnite since the actual introduction of Battle Royale.

So ‘playground mode’ is like a custom game where you are loaded into a private island with your team to do whatever your heart’s desire. You’re able to practice, build, explore, and compete without worrying about getting blasted or merked. There is no outside competition except for the competition you decide to make with your friends.

Fortnite is a creation game. Now you’ll have plenty of time to both practice your combat building and just see what sorts of things you can get into. Epic says you’ll have “an extended period of time” to play, so it seems like the storm might still be a thing.

If you want to play with a gun in ‘Playground Mode’, Epic seems to want you to be able to. Not only will all the loot that’s normally on the island still be spawning, but there will be plenty of llamas for more resources and good weapons.

Also according to Epic, you’ll still can get hurt in ‘Playground Mode’. Friendly fire will be turned on, meaning you can shoot your teammates. What it means is that you finally have an opportunity for both practices and for a kind of limited custom game, where you and your friends can fight each other for fun & for profit.

Epic has been clear that ‘Playground Mode’ isn’t just an LTM (limited time mode) like some of the others in the past. It’s the first moments of seeing what a full-scale creative mode might look like in the future, but the team is making no promises. of course.

So now that you know all about ‘Playground Mode’ it’s time to get on it and get crankin’. Well, not so fast. ‘Playground Mode’ crashed. Yes, that’s right! After all the build-up it could not handle the load. Clearly, people out there want to practice their Fortnite.

Word is, as this is being written, Epic is working hard on repairs and feel that ‘Playground’ should be back up very quickly. They tweeted this out just recently:
