Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin has ended the quarterback controversy, announcing today that Ryan Tannehill will get the starting job. Tannehill is a strong-armed freshman from Texas A&M who has been announced as the possible heir apparent to Dolphins legend Dan Marino. Dolphins fans everywhere are sure to be excited about the decision, but starting a Rookie in the NFL usually leads to a very long season.
When asked about the choice Philbin told the media, “It was a close competition, but in the end, we feel like this is the best decision for our football team at the present time. We like the way he handles himself.”
Tannehill beat out sixth year NFL player Matt Moore, who ended the season as the Dolphins’ MVP last year. [Miami Herald]
