Gun Control: The Final Push for Dependency

Obama’s latest push to make people even more dependent on the government can be seen in his latest attempt to destroy our second amendment rights. The second amendment is not about hunting deer as New York Governor Cuomo seems to believe it is, but is about having people able to resist the government if need be and is also about the ability to protect oneself. He made his views known five years ago in San Francisco when he spoke of people who cling to their guns and their religion in a disparaging manner.

There is nothing in his new proposals about guns that would have in any way prevented what happened in Newtown, Connecticut. Background checks would not have stopped Lanza because his mother would easily pass any check and Lanza killed her and took the weapons. Would limiting magazine clips to ten bullets stop a mass killer? I doubt it. Let us say one magically was able to limit all magazines to 10 bullets, would it not be possible for a person to use more than one magazine and eject one and put a new one in? I think so.

To me the second amendment is not absolute. I agree with the difficult licensing requirements in order to have an automatic weapon. However, the recent incident of a mother defending herself and her children in Georgia shows that limiting the size of an ammunition clip can be dangerous to a homeowner’s life. The mother shot the intruder 5 times yet he still lived. What if there had been two or three intruders? The limit would then serve to hamper a person’s ability at self defense. As explained before, the limiting of the number of bullets in a magazine will not stop or even slow down a mass murderer. Obama and his allies want to make the people of this country cowed and timid and become dependent on dialing 911.

This is all about slowly chipping away at our second amendment rights and the proof of this is what New York Governor Cuomo and that state’s legislature did. They just limited the number of bullets a magazine could have from ten to seven. Eventually they will want the limit to go to five or even fewer bullets than that. The idea here is to make the average citizen totally dependent on the government for not only their sustenance as so many are now but even the protection of their lives and property.

In a previous column about the massacre of children in Mexico that was aided and abetted by Obama and his administration, it was noted that there has been little protest from so many who support gun control. You would think that those who are so against guns and specifically guns ending up in the wrong hands would have criticized Operation Fast and Furious but they have not. Will any intrepid reporter now ask Obama or even Governor Andrew Cuomo or other anti gun-nuts about that?

Obama and his allies have succeeded in getting a near majority of the American people dependent on government for food, medical care, housing, and even free cell phones. The rolls of those claiming disability has also risen dramatically under his administration. Unemployment payments can last for years. The re-election of Obama proved that his idea of making people so dependent on the government worked. They will vote democrat for the rest of their lives as long as they get free stuff. Obama takes the old proverb of “If you give a man a fish you fed him for a day but if you teach a man to fish you have fed him for the rest of his life,” and turns it on its head. Obama has made an addition to the proverb and that is; if you give a man a fish every day he will vote democrat for the rest of his life.

The payoff for Obama and the elites in politics is that they get to live luxurious and pampered lives behind walls of armed protection. The average person cannot afford the same but pays for Obama’s through taxes. The last vestige of being independent is your ability to defend yourself and he wants to take that away from you also.

Yes but this would give others time to mount an attack or get away and if there are armed responders they would have time to take him down.

I disagree about the free stuff i am in an office with 10 people all working all with families and 9 of the 10 voted for Obama and none get anything from the government.

I do not know who you work with but there are so many programs that even working people get like health insurance and food stamps while working. Bush admin stopped the program when tracking devices malfunctioned. Obama admin did not even try to add tracking devices in Fast ad furious. Where are the gun control people about this?

That is interesting. I was under the impression that the author of this blog supported PresObama. I have been reading this blog for quite sometime. In fact, after the election I noticed this post by KidChronic http://sflchronicle.com/news/2012/11/obama-wins/ , in additon to other pro-obama blog posts. I completely agree with you on the gun control topic, without question. What I don’t undertand is why would you support for this man during the election and not know his true agenda. Are you saying that you were duped into voting for him? People voting for a “superstar” pres is one of the reasons this country is in the mess it is in. They don’t pay attention. Now we have 4 more years……….
