An Unfortunate Stereotype About Jews

natrayger September 21, 2012 10

Prejudice is when you believe that you can judge a person based on their being part of a group, race, religion, or ethnicity. Stereotyping is the is the actual cognitive mechanism of designating characteristics to members of aforementioned groups. Most of the time stereotypes are hurtful, but in other cases they can be considered complimentary. There is an unfortunate stereotype about Jews. This is the one that says they are smart. Yes, there are smart Jews, but to stereotype a whole group of people just because a minority of Jews are smart is wrong.

The Republican Jewish Coalition has claimed that Obama is losing support among Jews. In the 2008 election, Obama got 78% of the Jewish vote. This time it looks like he will get only 69% of the Jewish vote. Normally, this would be enough to prove the point that Jews as a group are not smart but elaboration is necessary.

We just witnessed the spectacle of the Democratic convention where, according to CNN’s Dana Bash, it was Obama himself who caused three things that had been in previous platforms to be removed along with a reference to God. The removal had to do with Obama‘s attitude toward Israel. The first was the acknowledgement of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the second was the isolation of Hamas, which fires rockets into Israel, and the third was that previous platforms called for Arab refugees and their descendants from the war in 1948 to be settled into a new Palestinian state as part of a two-state solution. The Jerusalem statement (and the reference to God) was reinserted by a supposed two-thirds majority of the Democrat delegates, but anyone who heard the actual voice vote knows that this was a false and phony approval of the reinsertion. This is not a trade dispute or other minor issue. A two-state solution would be impossible if the refugees from 1948 are to be settled into Israel instead of the newly created Palestine, and Obama knows this. There are seven million Jews living in Israel and their very lives are imperiled by Obama and his policies. There are 8 million Christians living in Egypt who are also imperiled by the same forces that imperil the Israeli Jews, which are the Islamic extremist supremacy groups. Those who adhere to these groups hate Israel for the same reasons they hate the rest of the West, and that is our freedom and ability to live secular lives if we so choose or to practice other faiths in freedom, dignity, and equality.

Obama’s support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt by giving it financial aid, especially after what just happened to our embassy in Egypt, is unjust and tragic. Obama extended abject apologies concerning a video that supposedly caused our ambassador to Libya to be murdered. It turns out that the murder was not caused by the video and even the media arms of the Democrats, like CNN, are reporting that the execution was a terrorist act and not caused by enflamed passions due to the YouTube video. In some ways, the reason for the death of the ambassador does not matter, except it now shows the Obama regime’s premature reports of the demise of Al Qaeda and its incompetence at protecting our own people. ..

In spite of all of this, and Obama’s personal relationships with noted anti-Semites and all of the other failures of his administration, Obama will most likely get a large majority of Jewish support. If this happens, it will disprove the stereotype of Jews being smart.

Why does one need to vote based on the candidates support of another country? If i am Hindi should i base my vote on what they think of India? If i am Catholic should I vote based on how they treat Italy? We should base our votes on what the person can do for our country and stop putting foreign counties’ interest over our own. I agree with Romney we should just ignore Israel and hope it works out.

This is a matter of life and death for millions of people. A vote for Obama is a vote against the survival of Christians, Jews, and Hindus and other people who do not want to live in fear. Obama policy is a failure.

The existence of Israel is supported by a vast majority of Americans but not Obama. Jews have a special interest due to their own history of being singled out for persecution and the fact that Israel prevents another mass murder of Jews. Obama is a friend of those who want to kill every infidel. Obama supports the enemies of Israel and Israel is just a start. Foreign affairs are important and we as Americans cannot be isolated. Obama is supportive of and is friendly with people who not only hate Israel but hate Jews. If Jewish people cannot figure out that Obama hates them they are stupid. The same people who hate Israel hate America and for the same reason. They want the ones who made that film executed.

Obama supports the Muslim Brotherhood with our money and sees the world from their viewpoint. He also apologizes and this just encourages our enemies.

America has an agreement with the country of Egypt not with the Muslim Brotherhood. If our agreements and treaties were to end just because we don’t like the person that a country elected as their leader then our word would not mean anything at all. I guess you only want democracy for all just a select few.

Also why does the defense minister of Israel disagree with you? Do you think he might now more that you about what Obama is doing for Israel?

His Qoute “Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ehud Barak said the Obama White House has been the most supportive administration throughout the two countries’ diplomatic relations on matters of Israeli security, in an interview to air Monday on “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.”

Barak -also a former prime minister of Israel – said that though historically administrations from both political parties have supported the Jewish state President Obama’s support, security-wise, is unparalleled”

I think your spend to much time with talk radio and Fox news to realy know what is going on.

Cuban Americans vote partially based on Castro and Cuba. Mexican Americans vote partially on American relations with that country. Jewish Americans also should vote partially based on Obama’s dismal record and sentiments about Israel. By the way Obama has failed
in every respect including foreign policy. The US has helped Israel develop the Iron Shield which is a defensive weapon but would be useless against a nuclear attack. Barak is in the other more leftist party which has a certain naivete about their enemies, in my opinion.

I would agree Israeli Americans would use that but most Jews in America are not from Israel they are from Europe so they should base their decision on our policy towards Europe. You seem to confuse religion with race and nationality religion is a choice race and nationality are not.

We will have to agree to disagre on this one. I miss hearing you on The Steve Kane show you should replace Brian so i can listen more:)

Being Jewsih can be considered a nationality and religion probably due to how few Jews there are. I am an American befiore I am Jewish but obama is a disaster in every way. Thanks for the kind words about the show and I do miss it. I am speaking to someone about starting a show again but as of now we are just talking.
