Four Americans were killed in Libya on September 11, 2012. Their names are Christopher Stevens, who was the ambassador, Sean Smith, an information officer, along with two military veterans, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.
One way that people in the media slant the news is very simple. They just do not report on events that might hurt the candidate or political party that they favor. This could explain the lack of focus on what happened in Libya by so many of the personalities and news organizations that are a part of the left-stream media.
Here is one example by way of a contrast. Remember the way the Valerie Plame affair was reported by so many news shows and featured in so many news stories. Her identity as a CIA operative was inadvertently revealed by Richard Armitage. There was even a film made about the incident. It was widely assumed and alleged that high officials, especially those in Vice President Cheney’s office and perhaps the Vice President himself, deliberately revealed her status as a way to punish her husband Joe Wilson for opposing the WMD rationale for the Iraq War. You could not miss the stories and emphasis placed on the venality of the Bush administration. It was argued that Plame’s life was endangered by those who did this.
An example of slanting-by-not-reporting is occurring presently. Charles Woods is the father of Tyrone Woods, who was killed during the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Libya. He was on the Glenn Beck radio show and he had some incredibly sad and interesting comments that have been barely noted by the left-stream media. Concerning President Obama’s reaction to the death of his son he has said:
“When {Obama} came over to our little area” at Andrews Air Force Base, said Woods, “he kind of just mumbled you know, ‘I’m sorry.’ His face was looking at me, but his eyes were looking over my shoulder like he could not look me in the eye. And it was not a sincere, ‘I’m really sorry, you know, that your son died,’ but it was totally insincere, more of a whining type, ‘I’m sorry.’”
Woods also says that shaking President Obama’s hands at his son’s memorial was “like shaking hands with a dead fish.”
Woods also has asked for answers as to why no aid was sent to his son and the other besieged Americans and that the attack was being viewed as it happened in the White House situation room.
Woods has also claimed that Vice President Joe Biden said “in a loud and boisterous tone, ‘Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?’”
Woods asked: “Are these the words of someone who is sorry?”
Concerning Hillary Clinton, Woods has said:
“Well this is what Hillary did, she came over and, you know, did the same thing apparently came over and talked with me. I gave her a hug and shook her hand, And she did not appear to be one bit sincere, at all. And you know, she mentioned that the thing about, we’re going to have that person arrested and prosecuted that did the video. That was the first time I had even heard anything like that.”
Apparently, Hillary still was believing that it was the video that led to this attack. Note that she did not tell Mr. Woods that they were trying to go after the ones who actually killed his son.
Woods has also publicly asked who in the Obama administration decided not to try to rescue the four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens along with his son. This is what he said:
“Apparently even the State Department had a live stream and was aware of their calls for help. My son wasn’t even there. He was at a safe house about a mile away. He got the distress call , he heard them crying for help; that’s why he and Glen{Doherty} risked their lives to go that extra mile just to take care of the situation. And I’m sure that he wasn’t the only one who received that distress call– you know come save our lives… I’m sure that other people in the military, in the State Department, in the White House received that same call that he would receive. And I’m sure that most military people would jump at the chance… to protect that life {and} not leave anyone behind.”
Woods also claims that sources in the military have told him that the area could have been carpet bombed to save the Americans, but that someone gave the command not to do this. He says he wants the truth to come out.
Certainly the comments of a grieving father are not definitive proof of any incompetence, insincerity, venality, or stupidity (well I guess Biden proves stupidity at least) on the part of the administration, but aren’t these comments at least worthy of being reported?
