Is Matthew Jacob Marin the Worst Cop on Planet Earth?

Yes he is. Matthew Jacob Marin has taken police incompetence to a whole new level after he shot and killed a one-armed, one-legged man in a wheelchair.

The Houston police department spokeswoman Jodi Silva said the man was threatening the officer and waiving a metal object at him at the time of the shooting. She went on to say the man in the wheelchair came within inches of the officer before he fatally shot him.

The only problem with that story is the metal object was a pen, and a police officer who is standing only “inches” away should certainly be able to see that. The fact that an able-bodied police officer carrying a gun would be scared of a one-armed, one-legged man in a wheelchair is absolutely ridiculous. How about walking away??? What is he going to do, wheel after you with one arm?

This cop, the Houston Police Department, and even the Mayor of that city should all be held accountable for what is obviously one of the most poorly staffed, managed, and trained police departments in the country. I’m getting so tired of writing stories about cops that claim self-defense in situations that require a quick mind, not a quick trigger. For cops these days its shoot first figure it out later, quite simply said they know they can get away with it. [USA Today]
