Jerry Sandusky, the ex Penn State football coach who preyed on underprivileged little boys in locker rooms, hotel rooms, and his basement bedroom, will now likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
Sandusky has been convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse and his sentence will likely be longer than two lifetimes, since he is facing around 460 years.
The sex-abuse scandal had rocked Penn State at its core, and brought about the firing and probably early death of legendary football coach Joe Paterno.
After the verdict was read, Sandusky showed little emotion and gave his family a half wave before the sheriff led him away to jail. Eight of Snadusky’s known 10 victims took the stand and described stories of fondling, forced oral sex, and anal rape at the hands of Sandusky.
The last witness to come forward and potentially the most damning was Sandusky’s own adopted son Matt, who came forward during closing arguments and was the main reason Sandusky did not testify on his own behalf. [ABC]
