How many lives has New Times ruined being the illegal advertising arm of the greatest prescription drug epidemic in American history???

Awww Yeaaaaaa how great is it that while everything couldn’t be going better for the Chronicle, New Times announces nationwide layoffs!!! That’s right the slow fade to out of business land has begun for America’s trashiest Newspaper. I guess the good guys win after all! This is what happens when the majority of your clients are illegal businesses like hookers and pain clinics. Either way the Chronicle is doing better than ever as we come of one of the busiest sales week in our young history and continue to meet with Investors from all over the country including the two biggest Newspapers in Florida. The best part is New Times has spent the last two months trying to trash us all over town! Thanks for the sales push guys but maybe its time you took a look at your own company? Might be a good time to figure out how you are going to keep that boring piece of trash alive after all the pain clinic money dries up, which we all know is coming sooner rather than later. To everyone over at New Times we hope your job is next, see you in the funny papers… or actually maybe not!

  1. Trash you? Until seeing this story, I had never heard of you! True, we laid off one person in Miami and none in Broward. But hey, who ever thought reporting was worth anything?

By the way, if I can send you a copy editor, you most definitely could use one. Or maybe you could find someone who speaks English a little??!!

  2. What up Upchuck Chuck? Remember that Garbage Pail Kid it was one of my fav’s,

We were talking about Broward Palm Beach Edition Chuck but nice to make your acquaintance. Since we don’t have a print pub in Miami that particular part of the story wouldn’t apply to you, but feel free to call up Anthony Gordon and Eric Barton they could probably shed some light on the subject for you. Let me ask you this while I have your ear, is your pub filled with community crushing pain clinics like the one in Broward? Because I have a hard time seeing how dumping 50,000 papers filled with pain clinics and hooker ads all over the same community you raise your kids in can fall under the guise of “Journalism.” Also I must say that I’m a little offended that you don’t know who I am so allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kid Chronic I own and operate the South Florida Chronicle, New York Encore, and Zarrelli Media our web company which owns the site you are currently on. The Chronicle Site was opened 17 months ago and has gone from 33,000,000 to 18,000 on Alexa the national web site ranking company. The Chronicle is read in all 50 states and 155 countries every single week. We run and maintain sites for a myriad of local business as well as run our own independent hosting which has 22 nodes strategically placed around the globe. This way when the guy in Kaula Lampur wants to view Lindsay Lohan’s nip slip or the girl in Bangladesh wants to see Mickey Mantles cock (its actually on the site you can search for it) they can see it lickity split. Personally I write 10 articles a day seven days a week and have had over 4 million pageviews in the last year making me one of the busiest bloggers on the web today. Our company is comprised of a handful of bloggers and computer engineers and we are currently on course to pass you guys in the rankings this year. We believe that our model for running a newspaper through the web is the most profitable, sustainable and modern system in the country. For instance do you know what our payroll is? $0 Do you know how much commission we pay sales people? 55%. So basically everyone makes a lot of money and its literally impossible for us to go out of business barred some sort of freak accident. Furthermore Chuck you mentioned editors which I would also like to touch on becuase the reality is you are obsolete a relic of times past. There is a reason most of the people Village Voice laid off was editors, they are phasing you out!!! The language is changing becoming faster quicker, lmfao, lol, wtf, the English you learned in school doesn’t even exist on the web today, which is soon going to be the only place anyone reads anymore. Secondly this is a fast paced world the first one to get the story up gets the hits, editors slow down the process and actually cost a site more money than they are worth. Example Id rather get 10,000 hits on an article with a misspellings, than get 150 hits on an article spelled perfectly. If you noticed Huffington Post just sold for $300 million and the site is littered with grammatical errors. This day in age a Publisher like me, would trade 50 editors for one programmer, or two SEO guys, or four social network sharers but I digress… Thirdly I could download a myriad of different editing widgets from WordPress that are smarter, faster, and more efficient (not to mention cheaper) than any human that ever existed. So take a deep breathe and look around because you are probably one of the last editors in time. Someday people will laugh that there was actually a job where a guy sat in a desk all day and checked spelling. lol I remember my first day on the web, fun isn’t it chuck? Don’t worry I was happy to school you, have a nice weekend. Love, Kid Chronic
