Calling All deviantART Artists That Have Been Screwed by Chad LOVE!!

Chronic Art — 19 August 2011

I feel it is only right that any artist that was ripped off by Chad LOVE gets some due respect and shine on this site. It is clearly the right thing to do (if you so choose to allow me to do so). I would like every artist, this pertains to, to send me their artist name as well as their deviantART page URL in the comment section of this post.

I will then write a story featuring the artists that have been ripped off, with ways to purchase their ORIGINAL WORKS. I hope the artists respond to this, and take advantage of it. There is not much that I can personally do regarding this situation at this point, but this is one thing that I can.

I understand if an artist is hesitant, or is so soured that they refuse to even think about it. That is fine, and understood. But I am hoping that most of you that have been affected will take advantage of it. I am sincere in my offer, and hoping that artists take me up on this.

Only one of mine was stolen- my high rex Good vs Evil contest submission, however it’s the one in the damn article photo- hes sitting in a chair next to it- ‘the facial peel’ he called it. Obviously missed the point of its meaning too.

This man did right to get his balls insured, because they are about to be in some serious danger of being ripped off (not in a literal scene mind you)

I didn’t get to see the list to see if my art was stolen and while I doubt anything of mine was, I do know some people who did get theirs stolen and I FULLY support their actions that are being taken. Art theft is vile. If you feel you need to make a name for yourself, and the only way to do that is to steal somone elses hard work….

Well… Lets just say Karma is a bitch!!

He got two of mine at art4love.com, and one at “markyourspot.com” (also currently down) which is owned by his affiliate, Craig Pravda, who shows up on a whole lot of other websites with this fellow (www.officehomes.com, etc, many of which are probably ALSO down.) and is also the owner of the paypal address through which art4love was routed.

My art was being listed for $346 and $1000 respectively. I sell the prints for ten bucks. There was a smidge of a mark-up.

Pravda commented, sort of, on google+ when I confronted him on the matter:

wherein he claims that art4love is removing the content they provided for them (presumably markyourspot) and that “they have sold their entire collection.”

Which is about as bad an idea for a cover-up as one can think of, when people are after you for selling their art. Go figure.

The current insurance status of Mr. Pravda’s testicles is unknown.

I wasn’t stolen from, but as a Deviantart member myself, it’s pretty encouraging to see the action and banding together that we all do to bring down someone who’s hurt us.

I don’t blame you for any of this, you were just relaying information you believed in. I respect you for doing this and for writing the new posts with updated news.

Sorry to say, but even though media are trying to apologize to all deviantartists, it feels like it is also your(media) fault. Even though it is Chad’s fault for taking so much artwork and selling them for profit, you should have looked further into things and made sure the work that he showed you was actually his. I’m glad none of my stuff is taken, but you seriously should start looking more into things instead of just finding a story and taking their word for it. I don’t know if what I said is true or not to whether you barely look into things, but whatever.

If you have noticed, we are doing a lot to help the artists once this was found out. They don’t have to give any INFO to ME. I can get it off their deviantART page for starters. Secondly, I am only asking any artist who wants their art to be featured on our site. Seeing as you did not, I am assuming that you are not an artist, or don’t want any extra recognition, which is fine by me. Thanks for a hit to our site, though!

I was done over by Chad also. A texture that I made for fellow artist and provided for free was being sold on his site for $292. Here is the proof

I didn’t get anything stolen (none of mine are very good) but I feel for those that have been stolen from.

I still can’t believe the audacity of the guy doing this so blatant. At least the last big news DA plagiarist at least put effort by tracing the works. This guy…man he just cut off people’s signature and artist tags.

For all those who intend to pursue in the class action lawsuit I read about going to happen, good luck.

The actual painting was stolen from me as well in New Mexico. Its really odd that it could be stolen again after it was stolen. An art theft paradox.
