David Villalobos does not care too much about his own safety, since the 25-year-old took it upon himself to jump from an elevated train into the Tiger enclosure at the Bronx Zoo Saturday. Once inside, Villalobos came face to face a male Siberian tiger named Bashuta. The two shared an intimate 10 minutes together that resulted in several puncture wounds, a bite in the back, and two broken bones for Villalobos, who was eventually rescued by zoo officials that had to use a fire extinguisher to get the tiger off of him, saving the young man from an absolutely horrific death. When asked later by authorities why he jumped in the Tiger enclosure in the first place, Villalobos told police “to be one with the Tigers.” [USAToday]
