This week on the Bachelor, 16 girls are left vying for Sean’s attention and ultimately hoping for that rose. We are equally as anxious as we sit on the edge of our couch waiting for Tierra’s trip down the stairs (as promised by last week’s spoiler clips).
Selma opens up this week’s first envelope for a one-on-one date in which Leslie M. gets to spend an entire day with Sean. On their date, Sean takes Leslie M. to Hollywood’s Guinness World Record Museum. Sean’s dad has his own Guinness World Record. Sean shows Leslie M. that his dad drove through 48 continuous states in 97 hours and now he wants to break a world record with Leslie M. He surprises Leslie M. by telling her that they are going to compete in the record for the longest kiss. In order to win they have to go over 3 minutes 15 seconds, and their lips cannot separate. After three painful minutes, where we watch and hope that Leslie M.’s dress doesn’t ride up any further, they are able to beat the record of longest on-screen kiss while Leslie M. sets a personal record of longest on-screen butt flash.
Sean and Leslie M. share a romantic drink and he tells her that she’s the only girl that he wanted to break a Guinness World Record with. At least this time around Leslie M. shuts up and kisses Sean, and she ends up with the first rose of the episode.
AshLee opens up the second envelope for the group date in which Kaci, Robyn, Leslie H., Catherine, Desiree, Amanda, Taryn, Lindsay, Jackie, and Tierra are chosen to go on. On this week’s group date, the girls meet Sean at the beach, and they find out that they are in a competition to win a volleyball game. The girls are separated into two teams: The Blue Team is Kaci, Lindsay, Jackie, Robyn, Desiree and Amanda, while the Red Team is Taryn, Leslie H, Kristi, Daniella, and Catherine. The game starts out as a complete disaster, with the girls not even being able to get the ball over the net. In the end, the Blue Team wins, with Desiree scoring the winning serve.
After the game, Kristi won’t stop crying and commenting on how stressful this whole process of the Bachelor is. Boo Hoo. The losing team goes home depressed, collectively crying and chanting “I need more time with Sean!” The ladies know that they could go home if they do not receive a rose. Still no staircase tumble from Tierra.
Lindsay sneaks some time with Sean and proclaims her love for him. Desiree also gets in some intimate time with Sean doing her best Katie Holmes impersonation.
Tierra (still standing on 2 feet) opens up the third envelope, announcing both AshLee and Selma on a group date and then telling everyone she’s kidding, that really it’s a one-on-one date with just Ashlee; the mood sours. Sarah doesn’t appreciate Tierra’s humor, and at this point I am just waiting for her fall down the stairs, wondering if someone actually pushes her.
The momentous fall finally arrives as the last one-on-one date turns into complete chaos when Tierra mysteriously takes a tumble down the stairs. The paramedics come and insist on taking her to the hospital, but Tierra realizes that if she goes to the hospital she won’t end up getting any time with Sean and all of a sudden she springs back up as if she nothing ever happened and all the girls know that this was all a plot to get sympathy from Sean. Sean, concerned for Tierra, goes and sits with her while poor Ashlee waits like an idiot in the kitchen for her date to start. Tierra is all smiles and laughs, commenting she should fall down the stairs more often. Tierra fell down and won her crown as Queen of the Fakers and snags the ultimate award Cray-Cray of the Week!
Finally, Sean and AshLee get to go on their one-on-one date. Sean surprises AshLee by telling her that they are going to Six Flags. The amusement park will be closed completely, except for the two of them and two other surprise guests. The surprise guests are Emily and Brianna, two young girls who suffer from Mitochondrial Disease, a chronic illness. Emily and Brianna met through the Starlight Children’s Foundation and became pen pals and best friends right away. The girls live far from each other and have never met. Emily is also surprised when Brianna gets out of the car and the girls meet for the first time.
Later, AshLee and Sean recap on their date and share some personal things about themselves. AshLee tells Sean all about her adoption and how one foster family abused her. She was finally adopted by a Christian family who told her everyday how much they loved her. Her story melts Sean’s heart and he even sheds a tear. AshLee is also surprised to find out that Sean is actually interested in adopting children someday. He offers her a rose and they make out.
Sean asks Sarah to come outside with him and when she sees the limo she starts to freak out, thinking that Sean is sending her home, but she finds out that Sean has flown her dog Leo in for a visit. What a guy!
The entire night all the girls are trying to get in as much time with Sean. As he sits down with one girl, another girl comes and steals him away. Amanda, having taken her happy pills, tells Sean that she is exactly what he has been looking for the entire time. It’s not until Sean sits down with Kaci B. and she decides to tell him about the feud going on between Amanda and Desiree that Sean realizes Kaci B. could benefit from a dose of Amanda’s happy pills. Sean calls Kaci B. out, telling her that she’s completely crazy. Burrrnnnnn!!!! He flat out asks her why she’s more worried about them than focusing on him?? Nothing she could say could save her ass from this and her plan backfires completely.
The backlash against Tierra continues as all the girls hate her for stealing Sean a second time and monopolizing his time. Kaci B. tries to smooth things over with Sean by telling him that she was having a hard time the last time they talked and Sean admits that he feels they have taken a few steps back. Before they even get to finish their conversation, Sean is once again whisked away.
At the rose ceremony, Leslie M., Lindsay, and AshLee are safe with having received their roses early on.
Standing and holding the first rose, Sean asks Kaci B. if they could speak outside and he admits that while he felt a connection in NY he feels that they are better off as friends and sends her on her way. “Bye-bye” cray-cray.
He comes back in and gives the first rose to Tierra of all people. He follows with Leslie H., Catherine, Daniella, Robyn, Selma, Sarah, Jackie, Amanda and finally Desiree, leaving Taryn and Kristi without a rose.
And then there were 13…
Who do you think will be gone next week??

Nice!!
I understand that the girls are supposed to be worrying about Sean all the time but as women, we don’t always have the ability to block out other people’s stupidity. I admire Kacie’s honesty but at the same time I find it ironic that her strategy to “play the game” backfired. My DISH co-worker says that her approach was a little naive because most of the time when women gossip about other women it’s a huge turn off. Maybe it’s for the best that Kacie made her exit on this episode. I’ll be tuning in for next week’s drama and I’ve got my DISH Hopper at the ready. It’s got the PrimeTime Anytime feature which automatically records prime time TV seven days a week on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. Now I don’t have to set any timers or worry about missing any of my favorite shows.
